I have been seeing a lot of these LAP BAND billboards popping up around town and I have to say this is by far the STUPIDEST one I have seen.  Attempting to promote the weight loss surgery, they use this billboard as an eff you to dieting.  How wrong does it seem that advertisers are trying to show all the obese people in America that instead of changing your lifestyle and loosing weight the right way, they should just get this surgery and all of their problems will disappear— Yeah right!  The message is confusing, the cause is wrong, and the ad itself is tacky.  You SUCK!

Separately these two elements mean well.  But joined together they create the best example of ‘YOUR AN IDIOT’ for poor Yahoo!  It truly boggles my mind when stuff like this happens.  Clearly Folgers didn’t want to have their ad up next to an article saying how coffee can contribute to your first heart attack, SO WHAT IS THE DEAL?  Forget about the risk of heart attack, the person who let this happen really needs to increase their caffeine intake in order to ensure optimum alertness.

As an attempt to bring attention to human trafficking, this advertiser decided to put a woman in a view through suitcase and let her go round and round the luggage carousel at an airport.  As if seeing someone inside a suitcase isn’t freaky enough, her facial expression is terrifying. A sure way to catch someone’s eye, and then cause them to quickly look away.  This advertising failure has its heart in the right place, but really? I give two thumbs down for the freaky chick in a box.

I love the idea of this ad— “Protect you valuables”.  I guess the main problem with it is that there is a live dog inside of this condom.  Plus it’s pretty creepy.  Also how they put a pink background on this ad, seeming to use these elements to target ‘blonde, small dog loving, pink wearing women…??’  All of this is very possible and yet a tad ridiculous.  The picture may also have problems because it makes me think of things such as suffocation (?) Just a thought…

Okay really– lets pay close attention to how Sarah Palin is advertising on a page talking shit on George Bush’s torture policy…  I might be mistaken but people said during the election that Sarah Palin made Bush look like a liberal intellectual.  Also, the Huffington Post they said it perfectly, “Underneath all the Tina, she’s George.”  So clearly the person that thought it would be a good idea to run this ad is a dumb-ass.  How hard is it to make sure that your ads don’t run on pages with content contradicting what you are trying to say!  Its called targeting people!!!

Oh Burger King, please stop trying to sell your burgers to the children of the world with dancing women who have square butts!!!! (well really its a rectangle, but no need to get technical when your on national television right??)   While the childish colors and use of sponge bob might seem like all fun and games, if you think parents are down with your booty shaking commercial you must be trippin’.  Also this ad is just plain confusing! Are you trying to sell me sponge bob, phone books, or burgers? I’m lost…but after seeing this ad it looks like you are too.

Lays ran this ad that at first seems a bit confusing.  Basically its one guy and a bunch of fucking wind socks working in an office.  Then towards the end he falls for a woman wind sock– eats some Lays and BAM turns into a wind sock himself.  Well Lays you have really outdone yourself, congrats!  It takes some real talent to create ads that are completely irrelevant, creep people out, and take attention completely away from your product.
